United States Military Educators Consortium, is working in collaboration with multiple Professional Organizations and support teams for a common purpose: “Serving Those Who Served US Globally”.
Providing services/support to our Military/Veteran members and their dependents in the capabilities as one.
We are 100% veteran owned and operated. Our team and leadership is 100% comprised of veterans who have all served and “knows” the needs of our military/veteran members.
We are “LEADING” the charge to make our schools truly “Military/Veteran Supportive”. We offer a wide range of “Professional Services” by current Active Duty/Reserve and Veteran Members “Subject Matter Experts” that are serving or have served our Country and “KNOWS” what is needed to assist our brothers and sisters in making a good decision on which Higher Education Institution will provided the services to assist them with their educational success.
Our teams are comprised of “Experienced Senior Military Leadership” that have served our Country for generations.
We want every campus of higher learning institution throughout the United States of America to be “Veteran Supportive Campus” what that means is each institution/campus should offer:
1. Complete a campus survey of student veterans to identify the needs, issues and suggestions of veterans.
2. Establish a campus steering committee consisting of student veterans, faculty and staff to share information and to develop programs to establish or strengthen a veteran supportive campus based on best practices but that also integrates the campus culture and identifies the real needs of the student veterans.
3. Provide “Certified” training on Sensitivity and Awareness on military and veterans’ culture, including related issues such as traumatic brain injury, posttraumatic stress disorder, physical and mental disabilities, suicide and hypervigilance for faculty and staff. ACVET is Certified to provide this required training to your team.
4. Establish a Student Veteran Orientation program, including student veteran guides for the first day on campus, an optional student veteran orientation session and at least one optional veteran only course taught by a veteran or by a trained volunteer on veteran issues.
5. Peer Mentoring and Peer Support programs for student veterans.
6. Outreach Strategies to local military bases.
7. One-Stop Resource and Study Centers on campus for student veterans, their families and student family members of the armed forces who are currently deployed.
8. Community-Based Collaborations to allow the private sector to support veteran resource centers through financial and in-kind gifts; and
9. Job Placement is an additional request our organization is requesting of institutions.
***Once schools have successfully met the above requirements they will be “CERTIFIED” as a “Military/Veteran Supportive Campus or Online Division” by our partner ACVET***
